Cockatiels are one of the most common medium-sized parrots in the world. Cockatiels are native to Australia. They mainly have two feather colors: one is white, with red eyes. The head and crown are yellow. There is a circular red spot on the cheek behind the two eyes. They are very beautiful and have high ornamental value.

The large number of breeding makes cockatiels quite common. The young birds raised by humans from childhood are very lively and love to be close to their owners. It is said that cockatiel is named after "cacatitho" in Portuguese, which means "small cockatoo" when Dutch sailors found it in Australia. The total number of cockatiels in the world exceeds 1 million, and the number continues to grow. The population is very stable and safe.

Wild cockatiels mainly eat grains, as well as different types of shrubs, weeds, trees, grass berries and seeds. Pet cockatiels mainly eat mixed seed food and eat the mixed food like canaries and budgerigars, millet, pellet feed, fresh vegetables, and fruits, and may have some additional nutritional needs.

Most wild cockatiels usually live in groups on dead tree branches. They generally move near rivers and streams. As a group, their range of activities is close to the water source. They drink water in the stream and bathe at the same time since most of them love bathing.
