• Blueberries – Fresh or frozen, both work wonderfully.
• Vanilla ice cream – Choose your favorite.
• Milk – The base of your shake.
• Optional toppings – Whipped cream, fresh mint sprigs, and a few extra blueberries for garnish.
• Vegan and Dairy-Free Option – Swap in vegan ice cream and plant-based milk, with oat milk being a favorite for its thick and rich consistency.
Simply place all the ingredients in the blender and blend away! Start on a low speed to get the ingredients moving, then increase to high speed. Blend for about 1 minute until the milkshake turns into a smooth, beautiful purple drink.
• Blending Order – Add the milk first, followed by the blueberries, then the ice cream. This order helps the ingredients blend smoothly.
• Thick Milkshake Troubleshooting – If the milkshake is too thick for your blender, use these tips:
- Use a tamper (if available) to help move the mixture.
- If you don't have a tamper, turn off the blender, scrape the sides with a spatula, add more milk close to the base, and try blending again.
- Let the mixture melt a little before blending, or start with 1 ½ cups of blueberries and add more if needed.
Unfortunately, milkshakes don’t make the best leftovers. If stored in the fridge, it will melt, and in the freezer, it will freeze and not maintain the same consistency.
