College Basketball Career


LaVine joined the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2013, playing for the UCLA Bruins under coach Ben Howland. In his freshman year, he impressed with his dynamic playing style and strong performances. Despite a shooting slump in the latter half of the season, he was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Dear Lykkers, by April 2014, LaVine declared for the NBA Draft, opting to forgo his remaining college years.

LaVine was drafted 13th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2014 NBA Draft.
