Hey Lykkers! Have you ever imagined visiting a miniature island surrounded by crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life?

We recently discovered Nanyuan Island, often called the "most beautiful mini island in the world," and we can't wait to share the breathtaking beauty and unique experiences we had with you!

A Stunning Island Escape

Nanyuan Island, located just off the coast of Koh Tao in Thailand, is a small, paradise-like island that can be easily explored in a day. As we arrived by boat, we were instantly captivated by its picturesque landscape—white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and lush green surroundings. The island's main draw is the famous snad-restaurants that connects it to the neighboring island of Koh Tao, making it one of the most Instagram-worthy spots in Thailand.

We spent some time relaxing on the beach, taking in the views, and dipping our toes in the warm, clear water. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind and truly enjoy the beauty of the island.

Must-See Attractions on Nanyuan Island

One of the most incredible experiences we had on Nanyuan Island was hiking to the viewpoint. The hike is short but steep, taking about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the top. Once we made it, the view was absolutely worth the effort—the panoramic vistas of the island, the surrounding coral reefs, and the crystal-clear waters below were breathtaking. It was a perfect spot to take some photos and enjoy the view in silence. The viewpoint is open every day from sunrise to sunset, and there's no charge to access the area.

Another must-see is the island's underwater world. Nanyuan Island is famous for its vibrant coral reefs and abundant marine life, making it a popular spot for snorkeling. We rented snorkel gear for around 200 THB ($6) and explored the shallow waters near the shore. We were amazed by the colorful fish, soft corals, and even spotted a sea turtle swimming gracefully nearby. The best part is that the snorkeling area is easily accessible from the beach, so even beginners can enjoy the marine life up close.

Local Delights: What to Eat on Nanyuan Island

After a day of exploring, we were eager to try some of the local Thai dishes available on Nanyuan Island. There are several small food stalls and restaurants on the island, offering a variety of fresh seafood and traditional Thai meals. One of our favorites was the Pad Thai, a delicious stir-fried noodle dish with shrimp and fresh vegetables.

It cost around 150-200 THB ($5-$6), making it an affordable and tasty option. Another dish we highly recommend is Green Curry with chicken, served with a side of steamed jasmine rice. The rich and aromatic flavors were a perfect way to end our island adventure. The prices for most dishes are reasonable, with meals averaging around 150-250 THB ($5-$8) depending on your choice.

For dessert, we indulged in Thai sticky rice with mango, a sweet treat made with coconut milk and ripe mango. It was the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness, and it only cost about 80 THB ($2.50). These local dishes added to the charm of our experience on the island and made us fall in love with the flavors of Thailand even more.

Practical Tips for Visiting Nanyuan Island

If you're planning to visit Nanyuan Island, it's important to note that the island is quite small and can get crowded during peak tourist seasons. We recommend arriving early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the island in its peaceful state. The island is accessible by boat from Koh Tao, with daily trips available from the main pier. The boat ride costs around 100-150 THB ($3-$5) per person, depending on the time of year.

There is a small entrance fee to access the island, typically around 100 THB ($3) per person, which goes toward maintaining the island and preserving its natural beauty. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water, as there are limited services on the island. Also, be sure to pack a waterproof bag for your belongings if you plan to swim or snorkel.

Nanyuan Island is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, relaxation, and adventure. Whether we were enjoying the serene beaches, hiking to the viewpoint, or sampling the delicious local food, the island provided an unforgettable experience. If you're ever in Thailand, make sure to add Nanyuan Island to your travel itinerary—you won't regret it!
