Jeju Island, South Korea, has started to promote a resource recycling campaign with a pilot project on Cow Island at the eastern end of Jeju Island to achieve the goal of CFI (Carbon Free Island) by 2030.

Located at the eastern end of Jeju Island, Korea's Cow Island is an island within an island, named for its resemblance to a lying cow with its head outstretched. With a circumference of 17 kilometers and beautiful scenery, Niu Island is also a famous filming location for movies and television.

With the increasing number of tourists, the island is getting more and more garbage. In order to achieve the goal of carbon-neutral publication and green sustainable development, Cow Island has recently started to implement a resource recycling campaign.

According to the campaign, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Jeju Tourism Corporation, SK Telecom, and Happy Connect, which are participating in the resource recycling campaign agreement, will reduce the use of disposable plastic cups on Miyajima Island. The slogan of the campaign is "Remember to recycle when you come to Cow Island". Through these actions, we will promote the recycling of plastic cups.

The parties are also developing and operating eco-friendly lodging-style tourism programs and promoting them online and offline to expand participation and raise awareness. In addition, the parties have decided to create a clean resource recycling tourism model for Ngocdo by carrying out various activities such as establishing a resource recycling system for PET bottles and participation activities for tourists and residents.

In response, Jeju Governor said, "To maintain the values of clean Jeju, 'creating a resource recycling society is the destiny of Jeju and the future of Jeju that we must build together." He said, "The Cow Island Resource Recycling Campaign will be a process to find solutions to problems that will provide visitors with rewards for contributing to the preservation of a clean environment and will be an opportunity to improve the quality of life while generating profits and reducing waste for the residents of Cow Island."

Cow Island is a small island in the eastern part of Jeju Island, with aliases such as the Island of Coral, the Island of Sea Maidens, and the Island of Lighthouses. The island has a gentle topography and is shaped like a reclining bull, hence the name "Cow Island".

The island is rich in fish resources and has an excellent natural environment. You can enjoy not only Jeju's traditional culture and beautiful natural scenery such as Jeju Sea Maiden, Stone Wall Road, and Stone Graves, but also enjoy marine fishing everywhere.
